The character I found was a white woman. Is there another character this nomination is referring to?

The character I found was a Moroccan teen. Is there any additional context you can give me on the character having Black ancestry?

Neither of these characters are confirmed to be Black within the book series. Would you like to nominate another pairing, or under a different medium?

The character I found, Trini, is played by a Mexican actress. Is there any additional context you can give me on the character having Black ancestry?

I could not find evidence that this character or her parents are depicted as Black within the book series. Can you provide textual support for this nomination?

Can I merge these two nominations? If yes, would “Haggar,” “Honerva,” or “Haggar | Honerva” make the most sense?

I am the Miraculous Ladybug nominator and the showrunner has previously said Nino's family is from Réunion. It is not clear whether the showrunner saying Nino's family is Moroccan is a retcon or an addition or what. Both places have ethnic minorities from other parts of Africa, anyway, and the only thing clear about Nino's ethnicity from looking at him is that he's brown.

Thank you for taking the time to nominate and answer this query. However, given that the only other family I could use to help determine this was his brother, I don't think Nino as a solo nomination is appropriate for this exchange.

Whoops, I accidentally nominated Harriet Jones while trying to nominate Dr. Martha Jones' family (who are Black). Sorry about that! Harriet Jones is not Black, though she does look tired.

Hiya, I nominated some Assassin's Creed characters under "Assassin's Creed (Video Games)" since you asked to avoid All Media Types, but it looks like that lives under Uncategorized Fandoms. For ease of finding, would it be better to change that to "Assassin's Creed - All Media Types"? It's not a question of different adaptations, it's that the main canon of the games has a few tie-in materials, so I don't think there's the sort of ambiguity that is usually the reason for avoiding All Media Types. Thanks!

Witcher- The fandom with one solid POC source but better source for other characters-

So weird problem- Witcher has 3 distinctly different and wildly AU canons. They each have some solid characters- but shipping say, Show Istredd (who is black) with Show Geralt is incredibly different than shipping Show Istredd with Video Game Geralt or Book Geralt.

I nommed a bunch of nominations for the show and in crossover fandom, and a LOT of my witcher friends are excited as heck because we have been starving for good Coen and Istredd content, but a lot of us ship show with games and show with show as separate things.

Should we nom each Show with Games separate from Show with Books or just nom ANY or? How do we untangle that?

I'm happy to hear that you're all excited! I do think Crossover Fandom is probably the neatest way to handle that conflict for this exchange. I would prefer to avoid (Any Witcher), though. So "Group: Coen/Geralt" nominated under Witcher TV, or "Group: Coen (Witcher TV)/Geralt (Witcher Game)" or "Group: Coen (Witcher TV)/Geralt (Witcher Book)" nominated under Crossover Fandom would work, for example.

Just proactively pointing out an issue I noticed! I nominated the Watson and Holmes comics (Sherlock Holmes series set in modern-day NYC where all the main characters are Black). There are a few fics for this already in AO3, and there are fandom-specific canonical tags for the two characters whose names are spelled differently in this version - Jon Watson and Irene Adlero - but the other three chars I nominated - Sherlock Holmes, Mycroft Holmes, and Mrs Hudson - don't have tags specific to this version. I put the version in parenthesis but it's probably the only one of its kind so not canonical in the Archive yet.

Not the nominator, but since it's still up there --

Hermione Granger is played by multiple black actresses for the stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which is canon for the series, so... does that count? :)

The original nomination for the book series was retracted, but several Hermione (Cursed Child version) nominations have been accepted.
